Community

Imagine a self-sustaining community based on the principles of sense-focused experiential education.
Our community will be created and cultivated through the collaborative activities between students, teachers, professionals, and donors to provide educational, therapeutic, and holistic services for the public.
Please join us in our vision.

Complementary to the Life Skills Program and therapeutic farm, we will open a conference center, eco-village, wholesale bakery, organic restaurant and cafe, and an artisan’s gallery and retail shop. There’s also an exciting facet of the commune that we’re currently not at liberty to disclose. Curious?

  • The conference center will provide sufficient space for large conferences and guest rooms for conference attendees.
  • The restaurant will have a multi-ethnic cuisine, focusing on organic, local, and heritage foods; to this end, we will use biodynamic produce and meats produced from the work at the Wellspring Farm.
  • The café will feature casual lunch and dinner fare as an alternative to our restaurant but using the same organic principles as the restaurant.
  • The eco-village is simply that. X amount of units which create utility for themselves. Self-sustainable within self-sustainable.
  • The bakery will be a wholesale organic bakery, using as many ingredients grown on premises as possible. Our baked goods will be sold to surrounding health food stores, schools and colleges.
  • The farms and gardens will supply the other components with an abundance of seasonal produce.
  • The retail shop and artisan’s gallery will be the venue to present our produce and wares to the public, as well as exhibit all the talented work created by individuals in our programs.
  • The mystery element will furnish patrons with advanced team building, self-awareness, and respect for mother nature.

Work in the restaurant, gardens, bakery, and conference center will be an integral part of the pedagogy for our students. Wellspring Living Arts will guide individuals in fulfilling their potential by utilizing our facilities to offer experiential training in a multitude of trades. One example is the cultivation of culinary arts and restaurant management skills through agricultural, culinary, and management programs.

The perfect property is available for Wellspring Living Arts.

It is the 156 acre property that was the former Lakeside School and the Edwin Gould Academy in Chestnut Ridge, New York. This property is not only gorgeous, with a stream and nature trail, but it has all the buildings and land that will be needed for our vision. The land is between a suburban and a small-urban community, and would provide a bridge between both communities and the surrounding areas. This location is optimal for Wellspring Living Arts.

Please contact us if you would like to find out how to help us obtain the land to fulfill our vision.
