The Wellspring Education Program is inspired by the Waldorf method. The curriculum balances academics and the liberal arts through the experience of the world of nature, the arts and trades. The program serves students ages 12 through 16. Master teachers and artisans create programs that provide experience through a trade or art, ideally each student will have an adult mentor. The main emphasis is on creating a community life to foster social inclusion through learning and working together. Our aim is to create the space and provide the experience so the student experiences his right and sacred place in the world.
Imagine an education where a young person is met as an individual in their learning. Instead of an impersonal curriculum, they are engaged in activities tailored to suit their learning style; met by educators who are invested in their future and mix with fellow students from a wide range of backgrounds. This is the vision of Wellspring Living Arts. Hands on, experiential and vocational style learning completes this vision, with young people learning life and work skills from committed professionals with a vested interest in all of our futures.
Imagine an educational village created through the collaborative activities between students, teachers, businesses, share-holders, and donors that contribute to a learning experience for all.
The above quote was taken from the Wellspring Living Arts Prospectus. For a more in-depth vision: see an elaboration on the Property page.
